Financial institutions in the banking sector had provided more than 537 billion yuan ($77 billion) in credit to fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak as of noon on Friday, said Liang Tao, vice-chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.

 

High technology has been widely used to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia in different parts of China. 3D technology has been used to print medical goggles to speed up production processes and meet the front-line demand in efforts to contain the virus in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province.

 

Achieving this year's economic growth-related goals has become as important as containing the spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, and policymakers are rolling out more measures to win the two battles, according to officials and analysts.

 

Changsha, the capital of central China's Hunan province, rolled out 20 measures on Saturday to help small and medium-sized enterprises return to production.

 

The General Administration of Customs released new measures, including speeding up the inspection of imported manufacturing equipment and simplifying the quarantine approval procedures for foreign medical goods, to ensure sufficient industrial material supplies and maintain market stability in China.

 

Automakers in China are canceling sales targets and offering subsidies to tide their dealers over during the novel coronavirus outbreak that has slashed traffic to showrooms across the country since late January.
