EAcham Overseas Delegation joined the 2nd WCIFIT,Chongqing.

On May 16, 2019, the 2nd Western China International Fair For Investment and Trade (refer as WCIFIT) opened at the Chongqing International Expo Center. Entrusted by the government, the European and American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EAcham)organized a total of 53 overseas investment and trade delegations from 37 countries from Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia to actively promote the exchanges between Chinese and foreign companies, strengthen the international economic and trade cooperations and multilateral investments in Chongqing as well as the western region of China under the trend of economic globalization, and further deepen the exchanges and cooperations in the fields of technological innovation, automobile industry, logistics and energy, from which overseas investment and trade delegations mainly come.

In the evening of May 15, represented by the Secretary-General of EAcham, the overseas investment and trade delegation of EAcham were invited to the official welcome banquet hosted by the Organizing Committee of the WCIFIT and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. The former Italian Deputy Prime Minister, leaders of Sichuan and Shanxi provinces, and the leaders of the Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal People's Congress also attended. The banquet was also joined by a number of Italian diplomatic envoys and other government representatives from the “Belt and Road” countries.

In the morning of May 16, all representatives of EAcham participated in the Inland Open Summit. At the forum, the leaders of the western provinces introduced the industrial development, international trade condition, resource advantages and investment projects in each province.

During the WCIFIT, all the delegation members participated in the Banan promotion meeting and visited Chongqing International Bio-City. They specially paid a visit to the pharmaceutical industry in Banan District to have an in-depth understanding of the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Banan District and the investment and trade environment. The representative of the United States from EAcham said that they had a intention to invest in the billion-scale pharmaceutical industry in Banan District. In addition, the Marketing Director of Lion Brewery, which is the world's leading food group - Carlsberg Group's high-end beer brand as well as the director member of EAcham, successfully signed a cooperation agreement with STO headquarters to carry out beer logistics cooperation throughout the country.

With the thoughtful arrangement of the organizers, EAcham Investment and Trade Delegation went to Chongqing Mudong Town in the middle of the tight but orderly business docking, to enjoy the rich intangible cultural heritage performances and have a deeper understanding of Chongqing's local culture.
