EAcham with Diplomats&Overseas Associations to Lobster Festival

On April 15, 2019, 10th International Lobster Festival & 3rd Crayfish and Rice Industry Expo hosted by Municipal Government of Qianjiang City, were grandly held on at Dragon Exhibition Center, Qianjang City, Hubei Province. Leaders of China Fisheries Association and the Bureau of Fisheries and Fisheries Administration of Ministry of Agriculture, heads of Provincial Government of Government and Municipal Government of Qianjiang as well experts of China Academy of Agriculture attended the opening ceremony, presided over by Mr. Dingrong Gong, mayor of Qianjiang city.
Representatives from the Beijing Office of the EAcham were invited to participate in the event. At the same time, entrusted by the organizer of the Expo, EAcham invited both Counsellor of the Embassy of Guinea in China and the First Secretary of the Uruguay Embassy in China as a dignitary diplomatic envoy to attend the opening ceremony together with, president of the China-Africa Cooperation and Development Investment Association. and vice chairman of the Armenian China Cooperation Development Center as representative of international organizations.
Wu Zuyun, secretary of the Qianjiang Municipal Party Committee, delivered an opening speech expressing that the Qianjiang people have been persistent in the past 19 years and have cultivated an industry with the spirit of artisans. They have successfully explored an efficient ecological breeding model of “shrimp and rice farming”which does a great help to the establishment of the world's only comprehensive industrial chain of shrimp and rice and the forming a unique culture of crayfish food, environmental protection, aesthetic, health and innovation. Qianjiang has become the “Hometown of Chinese crayfish", “Hometown of Shrimp and Rice" and "China's first market for crayfish processing and export."
Mr. Lage, first secretary of the Uruguayan Embassy in China, Mr. Rach was commissioned by the Ambassador of Uruguay to China, Mr. Fernando Lugges, to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony. Mr. Lage played a video of the ambassador’s congratulations to the fair, then presented all of attendees a beautifu short films to introduce Uruguayan’s agriculture and aquaculture industry. Mr. Lage said, as per principle of the Belt and Road, I believe that Uruguay and China will cooperate friendly and make great achievement on both Agriculture and aquatic products industries.
After the opening ceremony, Mayor Gong made a friend interview with the EAcham delegation and held cordial friendly talks with the Guinean Counsellor and the Uruguayan Embassy. Mayor Gong said that Qianjiang locates at center of Hubei meanwhile Hubei is the middle of China. Qianjiang is surrounded by Han river on the north and Yangtze River on the south, enjoyed a superior geographical position. The export of crayfish has been listing the first in all of China for past 14 years. Mr. Gong said that Qianjiang is looking forward to cooperating with Uruguay and other countries in various industries, including football industry.
As a member of the Board of Directors of the EAcham, a brand of the Carlsberg Group, Lions Beer was also invited as a import food exhibitor, whose products covered Sri Lankan black tea and Iranian saffron were exhibited.

At the opening ceremony, the team of experts from the Academy of Agricultural Sciences announced that the regional public brand value of Qianjiang Crayfish was 20.3 billion yuan. After the meeting, the EAcham met with the leaders of the China Fisheries Association and visited the exhibition area. They also strengthened cooperation with the well-known local enterprise Brother Xiaofei and further expanded the export channels. On the second day, under the arrangement of the Qianjiang Municipal Fisheries Bureau, EAcham visited the farm of the local leading enterprise Huashan Technology Co., Ltd.
