China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) announced on Monday the discovery of its first deep coalbed methane (CBM) field with proved geological reserves exceeding 110 billion cubic meters in China's Shaanxi province. The discovery of the Shenfu deep CBM field, located in Yulin, Shaanxi province, at the eastern edge of Ordos Basin, will further facilitate the growth of China's reserves and production of unconventional oil and gas, it said.

The C929 has entered the preliminary design stage, with its carbon emission expected to be slashed by 60 percent, Science and Technology Daily reported, quoting head designer of the C919, China's first self-developed single-aisle aircraft. Wu Guanghui, head designer of the C919 and chief scientist at Commercial Aircraft Corp of China, better known as COMAC, disclosed fresh details about the C929 during the International Forum on Green Aviation held in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, on Sunday.

New Zealand-based The True Honey Co on Monday announced the China launch of a manuka honey product with the highest levels of MGO (methylglyoxal) and UMF (unique manuka factor) in the world. Called Rare Harvest 2050+ MGO, the first batch of 1,000 jars of the honey, which has 2050+ MGO and 34 UMF, can be purchased on the company's Tmall Global shop.

Daqing Oilfield, China's largest onshore oilfield, produced about 22.61 million tons of crude oil and 4.25 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first three quarters of the year, an increase of 184,300 tons and 173 million cubic meters respectively, according to Daqing Oilfield, a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation.

The Chinese economy is growing steadily and remains on the right track, a Turkish scholar has said. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 4.9 percent year-on-year in the third quarter and grew 5.2 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2023.
