The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the country's top securities regulator, on Saturday said that it will promote the high-quality development of the public offering fund sector and steadily lower the sector's fee rates.

A larger fleet of driverless taxis will soon be available for hire in the capital city as the Office of the Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone has decided to launch the commercial operation of autonomous vehicles and expand their serviceable area.

Premier Li Qiang called for boosting confidence in China's growth as the country's economy showed signs of recovery and improvement despite complex global political and economic situations. Li made the remarks on Thursday while chairing a symposium on China's economy, which was attended by Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang and Chinese experts and scholars.

Luo Wenmei, a resident of Qingshan village in Southwest China's Guizhou province, felt lucky to join the local project of planting Sichuan pepper in the mountainous area which used to suffer from stony desertification. "I can earn more than 2,000 yuan (about $277.57) a month by planting the pepper," said Luo, who was excited to see how the plant, with strong drought tolerance, developed root system, good water retention ability and high output, has turned local hills green and fattened rural residents' wallets.
