The groundbreaking ceremony for the Dabar Hydropower Plant, which will be built by China Gezhouba Group, was held Friday in the entity Republika Srpska (RS) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The project, with an installed capacity of 159.15 MW and a total investment of 244 million euros ($266.8 million), is the largest hydropower project undertaken by Chinese enterprises in Central and Eastern Europe.

China has signed statements of intent to cooperate with three German automakers in a bid to further promote cooperation in the two nations' automotive sectors, the country's top economic regulator said on Wednesday. The National Development and Reform Commission, or NDRC, signed statements of intent on Tuesday with BMW and Mercedes-Benz in Berlin, and, on Monday, with Volkswagen, according to news releases posted on the NDRC's official website on Wednesday.

China has released a key work list for its pilot free trade zones (2023-2025) aimed at promoting high-quality growth, according to a statement by the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday. The work list, formulated by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with a number of central government departments and local authorities, outlines 164 key initiatives to be autonomously implemented by China's FTZs between 2023 and 2025.

Dubbed a window of China's opening-up, the coastal city of Xiamen located in the eastern province of Fujian has been at the forefront of paving the way for high-quality development. The GDP of Xiamen surged from 292.2 billion yuan (about $40.7 billion) in 2012 to 780.3 billion yuan in 2022, with an annual increase of 7.5 percent. Foreign trade exceeded 900 billion yuan in 2022.
