China will apply preferential tariff rates, as stipulated by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership pact, to a range of imported Philippine products starting June 2, according to an online announcement made by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.

The world's first hydrogen-powered urban train was on public display at China Brand Day, which kicked off on Wednesday in Shanghai. The train, which was developed by the CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co, consists of four carriages and is designed for a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The hydrogen-powered system can provide a strong and lasting power source for the train and achieves a driving range of 600 km.

Chinese tech heavyweight Alibaba Group's research arm Damo Academy announced on Monday its autonomous driving business will be incorporated into Cainiao Network, the company's logistics unit. Damo Academy, a research institute Alibaba launched in late 2017, has rolled out its Xiaomanlv unmanned delivery vehicles to address last-mile delivery challenges.

The export volume of Chinese automobile enterprises reached 376,000 units, an increase of 1.7 times year-on-year in April this year, continuing to grow rapidly, CCTV reported on Sunday. From January to April this year, Chinese automobile enterprises exported 1.37 million vehicles, up 89.2 percent year-on-year, of which 348,000 were new energy vehicles, up 1.7 times year-on-year, according to China Association of Automobile Manufactures.
